Apple Mail Troubleshooting Guide

Your customised mail settings are as follows:
Email Address: you@your-domain.com
Incoming (POP) server: pop.your-domain.com
Outgoing (SMTP) server: smtp.your-domain.com
Account / User Name: you@your-domain.com
SMTP Authentication: On (same Username as POP)
SMTP Port: 587
Note: If SMTP Authentication is not catered for by your email program, you must rather use your ISP's SMTP server.
Troubleshooting account setup for Apple Mail

General settings
3. Click on the General tab
4. Ensure that your settings look like those shown in this screenshot. In particular, check that Check for new mail is set to Every 15 minutes

5. Click on the Accounts tab
6. Select the relevant account and ensure that the Account Information tab is selected. The settings of the selected account will now appear in the right side.
7. Ensure that your settings look like the settings shown in this screenshot. In particular, check that:
* Email Address is you@your-domain.com
* Full Name displays your From name (which will appear in the “From” field in all your emails)
* Incoming mail server (POP3) displays pop.your-domain.co.za
* User Name displays your full email address e.g. you@your-domain.com
* Password is the one specified when mailbox was created in konsoleH
* Outgoing mail server (SMTP) displays smtp.your-domain.co.za
8. Once your settings look like the settings shown in this screenshot, click the Advanced tab

9. Ensure that your settings look like the settings shown in this screenshot. In particular, check that the Remove copy from server after retrieving a message checkbox is ticked
10. Close the Accounts window and save any changes if it prompts you. You should now be able to send and receive email.
